24 hours in Wagga

Morning: It’s time to enjoy breakfast at the hotel before venturing out for the morning. Remember to bring a hat, sunnies, sunscreen and water!

A beautiful morning activity is to take a stroll through the Wagga Botanic Gardens. There are some fantastic areas to visit inside including the rose garden, the Australian natives and the cactus & succulents garden. While here it is only a few short metres across to the Museum of the Riverina site which showcases Wagga’s sporting hall of fame as well as amazing images of Wagga’s history and culture.

Mid-morning: Head into the centre of town to see the art gallery with the art glass collection as well as over 2600 items permanently at the gallery and the current exhibitions on show. You will easily find something that you like here with a lot of local artist influence.

Lunch: Midday is always a very hot part of the day, so it is time to grab some lunch. Two options include either heading back to your hotel where you are able to eat at the Rules Club located right next door or finding a nice café or pub in town to enjoy a lovely meal.

Afternoon: It is time for a swim! Head down to the famous Wagga Beach with a towel and your swimmers for a dip in the refreshing Murrumbidgee River. A fantastic place to spend cooling off with a great atmosphere of locals and other like-minded visitors.

An alternative to a swim is to head out to Borambola Wines’ cellar door for a tasting of their beautiful wines and while there why not try their ales and cider.

Night: After a big day of exploring Wagga head back to the hotel to freshen up before heading over the carpark to the Rules Club for a delicious dinner. You can check out their Facebook page for the specials on offer in the restaurant.
